The Clinic Experience
What should I expect when I come in for my ketamine infusion?
Our goal at Revival Infusion Madison is to make your experience a positive one!
Upon arrival to the clinic, a staff member will assist you to one of our comfortable infusion rooms where you will meet your provider. You will be hooked up to a monitor, and an initial set of vital signs will be taken. These include heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation.
Next, a soft, flexible IV catheter will be placed in your arm for delivery of the infusion. The infusion lasts approximately 40 minutes for mental health and 3 hours for chronic pain, during which you will be monitored continuously. You are welcome to bring along anything that may help you feel more comfortable and relaxed, such as headphones, an eye mask or blanket from home (we also offer these amenities in the clinic as well, just in case you forget)! Your support person may choose to stay with you for the duration of the infusion, or relax in our waiting room.
Once the infusion is complete, you will be monitored for a short period to allow the medication to wear off and observe for any side effects. You will be offered water and a snack during this time. When you are ready to leave, the IV catheter will be removed and you will be provided with any follow-up instructions. We advise that you do not drive or make any major decisions for a period of 24 hours post-infusion.
